Alphawest has recently been selected by the NSW Government to supply agencies with software to manage the state’s Information Management assets, including records, email, images and other unstructured content.

Alphawest Services Pty Ltd is a leading national Information and Communications Technology services and solution provider, encompassing Unified Communications and Collaboration, Information Management, Business Communications, Security, Data Centre Technologies and Mobility Solutions. As a national leader in information management, Alphawest has over 15 years of experience and expertise working with customers from all industries to help them understand how our compliance driven Information Management solutions and services can deliver improved business efficiency and productivity.

We pride ourselves in being able to build business applications that leverage leading industry platforms to deliver our customers with business focused solutions to mitigate compliance risk and help to better manage, capture, collaborate and protect information. Alphawest was a provider on the previous NSW Government Selected Applications Systems (GSAS) Records Panel Contract 2606 that expired in December 2007, which included both software and services. Since its expiration, the NSW Government has split the panel into separate panels for services and solutions. The services panel is expected to be unveiled by the NSW Government very shortly.

Alphawest continues to demonstrate its ability to offer innovative solutions across the board, by building comprehensive Information Management solutions to meet the NSW Government’s business needs. In addition, Alphawest has installed the largest Australian base of Enterprise Content Management (ECM) solutions in a large federal Government department. The NSW Information Asset Management Systems (IAMS) Government software panel contract has been designed to ensure the companies are able to supply NSW agencies and departments with software under the NSW GSAS Panel Contract.

Alphawest was selected for this panel because of its leading role in the Information Management marketplace and its reputation for delivering valuable solutions to all State, Federal and Local Government, education and utility authorities throughout Australia, as well as in the commercial space. Alphawest submitted two software solution sets, together with leading solutions for intelligent data capture from Kofax, enterprise archiving from Symantec and business process management from HandySoft Global Corporation. The two main solutions were Microsoft SharePoint and Hewlett Packard’s (formerly TOWER) TRIM Context Enterprise Content Management (ECM) Solutions. The Microsoft solution set was based on the Microsoft Platform, primarily Microsoft Office SharePoint Server 2007 (SharePoint), but also included a number of other key Microsoft technologies, such as Windows Rights Management Services (RMS) and Microsoft Office.

Microsoft chose to strategically partner with Alphawest because of its offering which was based on Microsoft products, its status as a Microsoft Gold Partner with a strong presence in the Electronic Document Records Management (EDRMS) market, years of experience and expertise working with Government and having a strong and growing SharePoint solution practice.

Microsoft’s SharePoint solution has been endorsed by the NSW Department of Commerce for two key “maturity levels” 4 and 5. A majority of the client seats or devices in NSW State Government agencies now have SharePoint licences, helping to enable NSW Government agencies to leverage market leading technologies for ECM solutions that will drive business efficiency and compliance. Hewlett Packard’s (formerly TOWER’s) TRIM Context solution was endorsed for all 6 maturity levels.

This win is extremely important to Alphawest as it highlights its position, experience and expertise in the Information Management space as well as its effective working relationship with the Government sector to deliver innovative Information Management services and solutions. It also reinforces Alphawest’s experience and dedication to working with Goverrnment.
