Alphawest Services Pty Ltd has been named Sun Service Representative(sm) of the Year for the 2004-2005 fiscal year. As further recognition of its commitment to Sun Microsystems, the company was also selected as Systems Partner of the Year for Queensland and the ACT.
It is the second time that Alphawest has won the Service Representative of the Year award – the previous honour being given in 2002.
Alphawest has been working with Sun Microsystems for more than 15 years and the partners have a particularly strong relationship in the education and research sector. Alphawest have also devised and implemented solutions for a wide range of customers in the government, manufacturing, health and corporate sectors working closely with Sun products and services.
Alphawest and Sun Microsystems have also worked closely to jointly sponsor the innovative Sun Fire™ Grid Grant Program. This program aims to encourage the use of grid computing as a principal technology solution in support of key research projects. Monash University was awarded the first of these grants late in 2004.
“The Sun Service Representative award is partly judged on customers’ evaluation of the performance of Sun Microsystems’ partners. The fact that Alphawest has now won the award for a second time shows that our consistent, national approach to supporting, maintaining and managing our customers’ needs is what the market really wants,” said Alphawest’s Chief Executive Officer, Garry Henley.
“This award also takes into account the breadth and depth of Sun specialisations, skills and resources within the business, again reflecting Alphawest’s commitment to its partnership with Sun Microsystems,” he said.
