Integrated Research (www.ir.com) is pleased to announce it has signed a three-year deal with Alphawest (www.alphawest.com.au), an Australian leader in IP Telephony solutions, to provide their PROGNOSIS IP Telephony Assessor and PROGNOSIS IP Telephony Manager software.

“The PROGNOSIS suite of IP Telephony products has been developed over the past four years, and we have over 90 major global organizations currently using it to manage their Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) systems,” said Kailem Anderson, Product Manager, Integrated Research. “I believe our already mature, tried and tested IP Telephony products, built on PROGNOSIS’ seventeen-year heritage in business-critical application management, provided the best fit for Alphawest’s requirements”.

Graeme Peek, Business Development Manager - Network Operations Centre, Alphawest agrees, “Alphawest sought a scaleable solution to manage multiple customer IP Telephony environments and provide a unified view of IP Telephony health across all customers.

“Integrated Research's PROGNOSIS product was a clear winner in not only providing deep IP Telephony measurement, but flexible business views for Alphawest’s nationally distributed engineers,” he added.

The three-year agreement is for the initial supply of licenses for 200 phones and then further incremental supplies of 50 phone lots. This incremental supply suits Alphawest’s strategy to make VoIP more accessible for Small to Medium Enterprises (SME).

“Although SME’s may acknowledge the potential cost savings in routing calls over a VoIP network, many may hesitate initially to the new demands that IT support staff would face by moving to a converged network,” Graeme said.

“As a specialist service provider, Alphawest can help mitigate an SME's risk of deploying a new IP Telephony solution by offering a managed support model which delivers cost efficiencies and reduces the complexities often associated with integrating a new technology," he added.

Kailem Anderson said, “The scale and rapid rate of adoption of IP Telephony is due to the benefits VoIP has over traditional carrier phone systems; namely reduced costs and greater efficiency. And, as we’re seeing with our customers across the US, the greater benefit of IP telephony is being driven by advances in plug-in applications such as video over IP”.

“We’re pleased to be part of Alphawest’s plans for making VoIP more accessible to the SME market,” he added. “It’s a Win Win Win situation for Integrated Research, Alphawest, but mostly for the smaller enterprises who now have access to a viable managed telephony solution”.
