Alphawest announces that it has been chosen in partnership with HandySoft to deliver an automated case management solution to QBE Insurance.
QBE Workers' Compensation (QBEWC), a division of QBE Insurance (Australia) Limited (QBE), undertook an extensive market search of leading Business Process Management (BPM) solution providers prior to selecting Alphawest and the HandySoft team to deliver their solution.
QBE saw that Alphawest has the ability to implement and support a solution to effectively transition from paper-based, labour-intensive claims administration to an automated electronic case management environment across its managed fund and private underwriting business.
QBE believes its leadership position in the workers' compensation business rests on its continued investment in innovative solutions that drive operational efficiencies and the ability to provide a higher level of service to its clients.
QBE currently processes 28,000 new workers' compensation claims every year in Australia and expects to achieve significant improvements from the Alphawest solution.
"Time is critical in attending to an injured worker and is often lost or delayed using a manual claims process," reveals Colin Fagen, General Manager at QBE Workers' Compensation.
"With the BizFlow solution that Alphawest implements and supports, the bulk of straight-through processes will be automated. Staff will then be able to focus on the quality of service delivered through the claims management process and help injured workers return to work more quickly. The solution is expected to decrease claims processing time and reduce claims costs by up to 7%," continued Mr Fagen.
The system will automate and manage business processes at QBEWC's branches and offices across Australia through the users web browser.
QBE wants to ensure that a consistent approach is applied to case management and other automated processes, providing assistance to staff in their 'day to day' business activities. Alphawest will assist them to achieve these outcomes.
A supplier with a proven track record in the delivery of large information management and workflow projects was a critical consideration for QBE prior to engaging the Alphawest and HandySoft team. Alphawest has been delivering significant IT and Information Management solutions for over 20 years.
During this time, Business Process Management (BPM) and Workflow has become a key component of Alphawest's overall Information Management strategy.
"Alphawest and our technology partner HandySoft look forward to delivering an electronic business process solution for QBE," said Michael dal Maso, Alphawest's Program Manager for Business Process Management.
"With our continued focus on the BPM market in Australia; Alphawest and HandySoft are well positioned to provide significant business value to QBE."
"We look forward to delivering business process improvements to an organisation still battling with the inefficient manual processing of critical business operations," concludes Mr dal Maso.
Offering a partner based relationship to businesses like QBE, Alphawest is also able to provide practical advise in other technology areas such as IT infrastructure, document imaging; security, communications, disaster recovery and IT procurement.
Prior to selecting HandySoft's BizFlow, Alphawest itself undertook significant market research to identify a technology partner able to deliver a highly functional product at a cost effective price to fulfill the requirements of clients similar to QBE.
HandySoft proved that BizFlow, which is an award winning web based and scalable solution, provides a functionally rich capability "out of the box" and is based upon internationally recognized open standards.
BizFlow delivers measurable business process improvements to Alphawest's clients with a shorter implementation time and reduced total cost of ownership.
